If you are looking for the pages which review libraries and librarians in popular culture, please see the pages on anime, animation, comics, and films. Suggestions for new shows are welcome. This site mainly focuses on anime and animation, as should be obvious at this point.
There are some films I have reviewed, however, like Emilio Estevez’s The Public, The Truman Show, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, Solaris, and The Andromeda Strain. As such, I would recommend you use the following resources to read more about pop-culture depictions of libraries and librarians on the silver screen, which has been covered much better than animation and anime:
- Martin Raish‘s “LIBRARIANS IN THE MOVIES: An Annotated Filmography” (last updated in August 2011 and lists over 550 films)
- The continuing blog by Jennifer Snoek-Brown titled Reel Librarians, which has a list of films, TV shows, and other resources about library stereotypes.
- The since-abandoned blog, Librarians on YouTube, catalogs hundreds of depictions of librarians in movies. The site also catalogs librarians in video games, television, literature, cartoons, short films, humor, music, cartoons, comics, theater, hobbies, theater, radio, and various other media.
